Houston Zoo

Before all of the Christmas festivities began, we took a trip to the Houston Zoo. Luke and Davis are members, which means that they are so well acquainted with the so that they also served as tour guides! The Houston Zoo is so much bigger and more populated than our zoo at home. We had a wonderful time.
Rare family photo op.

NAP with Mommy's favorite animals, the giraffes. We saw that you can feed the giraffes. We're going to try that next time.

NAP and Daddy at Daddy's favorite animal, the rhino.

SueSue and all of her monkeys!

We played the bongos on the way into the African forest.

Sweet Davis.

Nash was digging being part of the zoo gang!

Luke's a real gymnast.
All of the Davison sisters. Daddy said, "I got the pretty one," in reference to this picture. He's such a nerd!

Luke and Davis checking out the aquarium. You could actually crawl through some of the aquariums. So cool.

Davis wrangling the rhino!

Luke conquering the rhino!

Visiting Santa

Mommy and Daddy said that braving the mall for pictures with the big ole bearded guy did not sound like their idea of fun, so we waited until we went to Houston to visit Mommy's side of the family to see Santa. The house near Mimi and Buddy's that has over 100 Christmas trees on display also has it's very own Santa and Mrs. Clause.

Davis refused to get ANYWHERE near Santa but Luke and I were game.

Here's Luke looking mighty serious. He's recounting his 7 page wish list for Santa.

Here I am. My Mommy and Daddy were making faces at me and all seemed all right.

So Big!

"Wait, if Mommy, Daddy, Mimi, and Midge are looking at me, whose lap am I on?"

Ahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help!

Much better. Luke and I loved the lights, singing decorations, and all of the Christmas trees.

Daddy and me at one of the 105 trees.

Each room had a theme. This was part of the pink room. Why didn't my parents pose me in the blue room instead?

Davis was so unsure of Santa that he didn't even wan to be in Santa's house. He posed with the orange tree because orange is his favorite color.

Thanks Santa and Mrs. Clause. We'll be back next year!

Just Tuesday

Turn up the volume for Nash's rendition of the word "yes" and "hi." He's also dancing, cruising, and waving bye-bye. I promise much more updating is to come (Daddy has a week off!).

Nash, Recently

Friends,
Our computers have been in the shop, keeping Mommy from blogging properly. Then on Monday when the good one came out of the shop, Mommy came down with a serious bout of food poisoning. In fact, 12 of the 20 attendees at a baby shower she co-hosted, were all poisoned. Oops. She's back to typing, but said she doesn't have time to rearrange or propery explain all of these pictures. She said, "just enjoy."

Give me that camera!

Baby (me) on the loose!

SueSue took Veronica to drive Mimi's car!

My mother is evil.

Michael and I have a bromance. I love that guy!

Hi!

I LOVE THANKSGIVING!

Both of my grandmas at once! Does it get any better?

My sweet profile.

If you are curious how the dogs are handling my presence, this should answer it all.

(See briuse on forehead) They don't beat me. I did this while learning to crawl. Luckily for my noggin, I hold it much better now.

I am this sweet.

NAP: 10 Months

Dear Nash,
Ten months? I absolutely cannot believe that you are ten months old. I am sure my disbelief at your age and growth is getting a little old to read, but you have no idea how quickly time flies with you.
You have changed so much in the last month. You crawl everywhere. There is no more leaving you anywhere and expecting you to be there if I turn around. We had a couple of weeks where I was scared your noggin was going to be forever damaged by all of the head bumping, but you gained your stability, and you catch yourself quite nicely now. You have teeth! Two, in fact, on the bottom. The right came in first and the left is still working it's way through the gums.

You are a happy boy. You giggle, laugh, screech, and babble all of the time. You are a curious boy. You use your index finger and poke at all sorts of things to try to figure out how they work. You are also a bit of a mischievous boy. You like to head toward the fireplace and one certain piece of loose trim board to try to pry it off. You know you are not supposed to do those things, so you look back and laugh!

You are eating three meals of table food everyday, though you really don't love anything healthy or meat. This is not a good sign. You like Pirates Booty, grilled cheese, strawberries, peas on occasion, and turkey dogs. You still are on breast milk too.

Your hair is long and thick and blond. People keep asking when we are going to cut it; we have no answer. I love your hair and as long as it doesn't turn into a mullet, it's growing!

We have been so busy for the last month. We traveled for Thanksgiving, battled weeks of colds, hung out with our friends and family, and had a good ole time hanging out at home as a little family.

Nash, we cannot believe how quickly you are turning into a little boy. Your curiosity and wonder make us remember to slow down. You giggles bring the purest joy to us. I cannot imagine a day when you will not fit in my arms, but I fear it is coming all too quickly. I want to hold you forever.
Love,
Mom

of our computers are in the shop. The one I am typing on is hopeless and does not recognize any external media, hence no pictures. Tons to come.

Happy Friday, Nash Lovers.

Eye Color?

I know we have a few months left before they could officially turn colors, but NAP's eye color seems to be very unique (unlike KP or my brown eyes).

In research eye color, it's hard to label these beauties. They are a type of Hazel, but often look gray. Anyway, here are the prettiest eyes I know.

Mommy's Birthday

Internet, my Mommy turned thirty-something this past week. This was her first thirty-something (31) birthday and wouldn't you know, we were still sick? What's that? You're tired of hearing that we're sick? Imagine how we feel. I still have a runny/congested nose, as do Mom and Dad. Someday we will get past this.

Here are some pics from the past couple of weeks, celebrating her birthday.

We went out to the hill country for BBQ and wine tasting (such a baby-centered event) with some friends this past weekend. It was so much fun!

Daddy and I make the same faces and noises!

I love being with my Daddy.

Here we are at the zoo on Mommy's actual birthday. We only stayed an hour because we felt crummy, but it was fun!

Daddy points out the most interesting things. He knows lots of random facts.

Here I am with Grandma and Mom. We were looking at the monkeys. Those guys make fun sounds.

Warning: I may bite! (Don't look at Mommy's chins.)

Grandma and Aunt Ade put together a birthday party for Mom because her original plans were foiled by illness (I know, enough already!). It was very nice and she ate lots of sugar.

I love to listen when Grandma reads to me. I don't even try to tear the pages like I do with my peeps.

Grandpa, Daddy, and I had some man time. We tossed the ball around the backyard. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for coming up, helping my sick parents, and hanging out with me!
