Eye Color?

I know we have a few months left before they could officially turn colors, but NAP's eye color seems to be very unique (unlike KP or my brown eyes).

In research eye color, it's hard to label these beauties. They are a type of Hazel, but often look gray. Anyway, here are the prettiest eyes I know.

Mommy's Birthday

Internet, my Mommy turned thirty-something this past week. This was her first thirty-something (31) birthday and wouldn't you know, we were still sick? What's that? You're tired of hearing that we're sick? Imagine how we feel. I still have a runny/congested nose, as do Mom and Dad. Someday we will get past this.

Here are some pics from the past couple of weeks, celebrating her birthday.

We went out to the hill country for BBQ and wine tasting (such a baby-centered event) with some friends this past weekend. It was so much fun!

Daddy and I make the same faces and noises!

I love being with my Daddy.

Here we are at the zoo on Mommy's actual birthday. We only stayed an hour because we felt crummy, but it was fun!

Daddy points out the most interesting things. He knows lots of random facts.

Here I am with Grandma and Mom. We were looking at the monkeys. Those guys make fun sounds.

Warning: I may bite! (Don't look at Mommy's chins.)

Grandma and Aunt Ade put together a birthday party for Mom because her original plans were foiled by illness (I know, enough already!). It was very nice and she ate lots of sugar.

I love to listen when Grandma reads to me. I don't even try to tear the pages like I do with my peeps.

Grandpa, Daddy, and I had some man time. We tossed the ball around the backyard. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for coming up, helping my sick parents, and hanging out with me!

NAP: 9 Months

Dear Nash,

You are 9 months old today. That is 3/4 of a year (not 8 months as I wrote last month and no one called me out on). You have officially been out as long as you were in.

I cannot believe how big you have gotten. Your 9 month checkup is next week. We will learn more about your stats then, but you are starting to do such big boy things. You are attempting crawling. You move a few paces, then sit down or lunge toward whatever you have your eye on. You pull up on everything. You can sit from the laying position. Frequently we come into your room to find you sitting up in your crib. You also like to scoot toward the bottom of the bed and turn the music to your mobile on. You have just started dancing to music. You wave, give low fives, and even snuggle a little.

You are always investigating. You use your index finger to poke and pry at battery covers, details in toys, and places where screws are. You are very curious. You love playing with toys, and just recently, you have started to love to read. I should clarify, you like to read 3 books: Dog, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, and some random book about puppies. We desperately need to get more books by these first two authors as Mommy and Daddy new some new entertainment.

You eat like a champ. You like baby food, Mum Mums, cut up fruit (kiwi, peaches, strawberries), couscous, rice, and biter biscuits. You still nurse 4 times a day. That will probably change after our next checkup though. After another round of sleep training, you are sleeping very well too. You love me and as much as you are attached to me (duh, I am your mom), you love your Daddy the same. He reads to you, plays with you, cuddles you, and knows how to make you happy.

You are our little human. You make us laugh all of the time. Our hearts have grown so much and amazingly, grow more with you all the time.

We love you silly pants,

Mom

Whew

Internet, this has been a couple of tough weeks. First, Mimi had to have emergency surgery that resulted in a miserable recovery for her. Luckily she is now resting, organizing, and pruning roses again at Three Sisters Acres. We were all very worried about Mimi. To show her how much we love her, we sent her this cute video:

Then, Mommy, Daddy, and I all came down with one heck of a virus. We have very stuffy noses, aches, fevers, and just generally feel bad. We all got flu shots, so hopefully it wasn't the flu, but if it was, it was mild thanks to those injections. Mommy and Daddy have been torturing me many times a day by sucking the snot out of my nose, but they keep mentioning that it hasn't settled in my lungs and how that's at least something.

We're hoping for a speedy recovery for everyone, especially our Mimi.

Happy Birthdays!

Happy Birthdays Aunt Ade, Sue Sue, Mimi, Aunt Donna, and Mommy.
Love, Nash
