No Time

I don't want to sound like another cranky mother complaining about how I have absolutely no time to do anything, because if you are a Facebooker, you know that's not true. I have time, but it's just thrown at me in very small increments at random moments throughout the day. I cannot live without Facebook. I am a true addict. In order to keep my addiction going, I FB while Nash feeds, in bed before my eyes close at night, and during those rare moments when my child is asleep and there isn't something else demanding my attention. That's only happened twice. In nearly four months.

But really, time is flying. I cannot believe that we are nearly 15 weeks into my son's life and I have not found the time to open a huge stack of bills (oops), watch the three Netflix that have been on our entertainment center for months, call some people back, or revive my Perez Hilton addiction.

Actually, that's one addiction that I have had less of a hard time with. I'd much rather know what my boyfriend from 6th grade is doing this weekend than who cheated on whom in Hollywood. I don't know those people. I like their gossip, sure. I am not fundamentally opposed to them being constantly photographed or bothered. But when it comes to prioritizing, this girl goes to FB before Perez. Sorry, Perez. Now, if you had a decent Mobile version, I might check that too before I fall asleep at night.

Anyway, this here's my way of saying that while posting pictures of my adorable, wonderful, perfect, amazing son is so freaking awesome and still going to be a top priority on this blog, you're again going to have to read or scroll past my random rants. I'm back. I hope.

And because I just wrote this, my child is going to start sleeping even less and I won't have any time to even turn the computer on. Reverse Psychology with the Universe.

Happy Friday

Nash and Friends

Baby Lilly and her Momma.

Little Baby Lilly. She doesn't know it yet, but we're best friends. I am going to teach her to yell and get what you want. I have a feeling her Momma might stick to her guns a little more than my Mom though. But Lilly, if you work it hard enough, you can get them to hold you all of the time!

I slept on Grandma until midnight the other night, when my folks finally took me home and put me to bed. I like ti at Grandma and Grandpa's new house.

Here's my good buddy Kyle. He's tiny too, but I have a feeling he's going to grow to be more than a foot taller than me! We're going to do all kinds of fun stiff together, like dig in the dirt and drive our parents nuts!

Kyle's big sis, Ella is in this pic too with her Daddy. Can you believe he's holding two babies? I bet there's a serious juggling act going on over at their house. I hope to play there soon!

Ade and Mark like me too. Ade is a great aunt, but she doesn't do poop, so she can't babysit me. Maybe she'll get over that since I am so cute.

Miss Hampton and Meredith came for a quick visit to meet me too. Hampton loves how silly Daddy is and only noticed me for a few minutes. She's such a sweet girl, I hope to see her soon.

Here's Miss Meredith, Mommy's friend from college. She loves babies and is great with them too. Mommy says she hopes she can teach me manners like Miss Meredith teaches Hampton.

Cousin Davis' Birthday and Mother's Day

Howdy Readers, Nash here. Mama will continue to blog mostly, but I needed to find my voice on here. Because I have recently found my voice in real life (for real, I sound like a terradactyl), Mama thought it a good time to start blogging too.

Last weekend we went to Mimi and Buddy's house. I had so much fun! We celebrated Davis' 2nd birthday with him. I got to meet lots of new folks, but I think my Mama and Daddy already know them because I was freely passed around, until I cried. See I know how to work Mama already. One little squeak out of me and she's right there trying to soothe me. If I cry a little longer and a little louder, she feeds me. Sucka! Works every time.
Anyway, here are some pics of last weekend.

The birthday Boy!

Cousin Luke, as a pirate, and me in my party onzie.

Midge holding me. I finally got to spend some good time with Midge. Plus, she got me some really cute little clothes.

Mimi time! I ALWAYS cry for Mimi, but this trip, Mimi was persistent and I finally took to her. I love her and remember that she helped take care of me when I was super-little.
Oh Mimi, you're so funny!

Sue Sue and Mimi let me tell them all of my good stories. They even laughed at my (elementary) jokes!

Midge and Uncle Matt hosted a Mother's Day brunch for us all. Here's Midge with all of the Davison side boys. (Why didn't I take any pictures with Uncle Matt??)

My cousins were so sweet and let me play with all of their soft toys!

Cousin Davis is so sweet to me.

Cousin Luke is so big and is great at holding me. Like my tie?

My Mom and aunts got Mimi this framed picture of the whole family for Mother's Day. Can you spot me? I am still in Mama's belly in this pic. I gave Mama some beautiful amethyst earrings for Mother's Day. Yes, Daddy helped me pick them out (and pay for them...I don't have a steady income yet).
Thanks for a great weekend, Family. Can't wait to hang again soon and super looking forward to vacation!

Happy Friday, Friends

NAP: 3 Months

(UPDATED)

Dear Nash,
You are three months old! Actually, as usual, I am a few days late, so now you are 13 weeks and 1 day. Please forgive my tardiness, I am busy raising an infant.

We have had a lot of fun in the past month. We regularly take walks with our friends, play at home, and run lots of errands. You are great in restaurants and in the car. You sleep like a champ at night in your own room. We're still trying to figure out how daytime naps fit into your schedule and because you tend to "wait" instead of nap, we're putting you to bed earlier and earlier, with the same wake up time result. Like I said, you sleep like a champ at night. For this, I am very thankful.

You still love your bath. We took you out of the hammock part and now you are a splashing machine. Tummy time is becoming less traumatic, which is good because I think you're supposed to be spending more time preparing your muscles and limbs for mobility. At this point, that's a dirty word though.

We call you so many things, I wonder if a nickname will stick. You are my own little animal sanctuary; I call you Monkey or Little Bird the most, but when you do something silly, I call you goose or turkey too. We also call you Little Stink, probably because Midge and Mimi call your cousins some version of Stinker. Grandma and Grandpa call you Nash Potatoes, which is adorable, but I have a feeling you're going to nix that one in early childhood, like I nixed Amy Doodle.

You have recently found your hands and are amazed by all that they do. You like to stick your whole hand in your mouth and are sometimes disgusted by how it tastes (like after lotion). You like to play with the hands of whoever is holding you too. You also really like the fan. When you spot it, you smile that huge gummy smile. I have named fans Fred. It makes it less creepy for them to have a name.

You seem to be a bit of a sensitive baby and prefer your Mommy and Daddy over others already. I am sure this has nothing to do with the fact that you and I hang out all of the time and I spoil you rotten. Nope. Not possible. You are doing better with being (over) stimulated. You last quite a while now, but then need a good nap. It's all just part of the growing process.

Today is Mother's Day, son. I am so excited to be celebrating my first Mother's Day with you. You are the pride of my life. I hope that doesn't sound trite if ever you read this. It is so true. You make me feel proud and accomplished. You make me feel like I am doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing.

I love you,
Mom

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

You know if I had a guayabera that fit this little boy (we have one that's too big right now), he'd be in it this morning. But, I don't and am on a shopping hiatus, so you just get cute pictures instead.

On his back after tummy time. He still doesn't like being on his tummy, but I am working on it.

Lots of love from the pugs.

Zeus!!!
Gus Gus! Where's Mac? Oh, he loves his dog bed more than he loves the baby right now.

Perfectly pursed lips.

Who, me? Are those eyebrows not so expressive? Nash can raise one eyebrow like my Mom and I can. It's pretty cute.

Over-stimulation station. I had to get creative with Nash's entertainment while cooking dinner last night as he was very cranky. This combo of two activities (bouncer and pay mat) proved to be a good thing for about 20 minutes. Nash kicked and grabbed for all of the toys. And then he cried.
